Digitisation requires broad-based technology providers

By “digitisation” every company understands something different. The size, field of activity and industry of the company play an influential role here. But one thing is certain: parts of a company should grow closer together, be better networked and more automated. Broad-based technology providers are now in demand here.

Digitisation requires a new approach to IT. Networks are becoming even more important as more and more devices need to be connected – not just PCs, smartphones and servers, but also those that were previously not part of the network: Machines, cars, building services engineering, etc.. As the number of networked devices increases, so does the amount of data they deliver. These data promise insights, but the optimization potential has not yet been exhausted. A potential for new business models.

Huawei – Supplier with a broad portfolio

At the same time, technical development has accelerated in recent years. Many technologies are on the verge of a breakthrough. Managers should put digitization at the top of their priority list. In recent years, Huawei has developed into a broad-based provider. The company not only offers robust products that are suitable for everyday use with a very good price-performance ratio, but can also convince with technologies developed in-house.

Among other things, the world’s first AI-based firewall was shown at Huawei eco-Connect Europe in Rome at the beginning of November. And iCooling@AI is an AI-supported cooling solution for data centers. Huawei shows the way. Also with regard to data backup and storage. With OceanStor Dorado V3, Huawei offers the world’s fastest selling flash memory system with the fastest pure flash memory. It is used, for example, by 7 of the 20 leading banks.

Advantages over other companies

The architecture is based on controller chips and intelligent algorithms. An intelligent multi-protocol interface chip improves memory performance by 20 percent by analyzing front-end protocols and a dedicated SSD controller chip reduces read latency. These products represent the benefits of vertical integration at Huawei: By being able to contribute and develop all the components from the chip to the software itself, the company creates opportunities and above all advantages, because the companies have to purchase large parts of the entire product.
