Pour un seul produit SaaS, cette consommation s\u2019\u00e9l\u00e8ve \u00e0 1 \u00e0 5 tonnes d\u2019\u00e9quivalent CO\u2082 par an.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>L\u2019ing\u00e9nierie logicielle verte r\u00e9pond \u00e0 ce d\u00e9fi de fa\u00e7on syst\u00e9matique : un code plus efficace, des architectures optimis\u00e9es et une infrastructure \u00ab carbon-aware \u00bb permettent de r\u00e9duire la consommation \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique  &#8211;  souvent avec pour effet secondaire une baisse des co\u00fbts li\u00e9s aux services cloud.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"margin-top:64px;margin-bottom:20px;padding-top:16px;\">Pourquoi la durabilit\u00e9 des logiciels devient aujourd\u2019hui une priorit\u00e9<\/h2>\n<p>Deux facteurs d\u00e9clencheurs : <strong>la r\u00e9glementation<\/strong>  &#8211;  la directive europ\u00e9enne sur le reporting en mati\u00e8re de durabilit\u00e9 des entreprises (CSRD, Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive) oblige les entreprises \u00e0 publier, \u00e0 compter de 2025 ou 2026 selon leur taille et leur statut, un rapport couvrant leurs \u00e9missions de gaz \u00e0 effet de serre de \u00ab port\u00e9e 3 \u00bb (Scope 3). Les services cloud et les produits logiciels entrent explicitement dans cette cat\u00e9gorie. Les entreprises doivent donc mesurer et d\u00e9clarer l\u2019empreinte carbone de leur infrastructure num\u00e9rique.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>La pression sur les co\u00fbts<\/strong>  &#8211;  un logiciel \u00e9conome en \u00e9nergie est aussi un logiciel moins co\u00fbteux. Moins de ressources de calcul (compute) signifie des factures cloud r\u00e9duites. L\u2019ing\u00e9nierie logicielle verte (Green Software Engineering) et l\u2019optimisation des co\u00fbts cloud (Cloud Cost Optimization) sont deux facettes d\u2019une m\u00eame d\u00e9marche.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"margin-top:64px;margin-bottom:20px;padding-top:16px;\">Les trois leviers : code, architecture, infrastructure<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Efficacit\u00e9 du code :<\/strong> Un code inefficace gaspille des cycles processeur. Les choix architecturaux ont l\u2019impact le plus fort sur la consommation globale.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Infrastructure :<\/strong> Dimensionnement adapt\u00e9 des instances (rightsizing), utilisation de r\u00e9gions g\u00e9ographiques \u00e0 faible intensit\u00e9 carbone, planification \u00ab consciente du carbone \u00bb (carbon-aware scheduling) et mont\u00e9e en charge automatique jusqu\u2019\u00e0 z\u00e9ro (auto-scaling to zero) pendant les p\u00e9riodes de faible charge.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"margin-top:64px;margin-bottom:20px;padding-top:16px;\">L\u2019informatique sensible au carbone en pratique<\/h2>\n<p>La teneur en CO\u2082 du r\u00e9seau \u00e9lectrique varie heure par heure, selon les conditions de vent, d\u2019ensoleillement et de demande. L\u2019informatique sensible au carbone tire parti de ces fluctuations : les charges de travail flexibles (traitement par lots, entra\u00eenement de mod\u00e8les d\u2019apprentissage automatique, sauvegardes) sont d\u00e9cal\u00e9es vers des cr\u00e9neaux horaires o\u00f9 l\u2019intensit\u00e9 carbone de l\u2019\u00e9lectricit\u00e9 est faible.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>La <strong>Fondation pour les logiciels verts<\/strong> (Green Software Foundation, fond\u00e9e par Microsoft, Accenture, GitHub et ThoughtWorks) propose le SDK Carbon Aware, une biblioth\u00e8que open source permettant d\u2019interroger en temps r\u00e9el le score d\u2019intensit\u00e9 carbone d\u2019une r\u00e9gion donn\u00e9e.
